It's time for shoutouts. I have been seeing a  lot of good crafting and organizing craft/sewing room ideas lately. I'm going to start doing this every week so I can get creative and pass these on to you. I show what I make on my youtube channel. My channel name is Paradise Creations. I was looking for ideas on Pinterest to make face scrubbies.. You know how Pinterest gives you new ideas for other things? Well I found this blog where she posts 50 things to make and sell. I thought that was a great way to sell things you make without having to have a website. She also has all types of items that you can use your Cricut for. So I haven't tried anything yet, but I am definitely going to follow her. I would recommend you to do the same, if you are looking to use your Cricut for things to make and sell. Here is the blog address:

https://tastefullyfrugal.org/2019/10/50-things-to-make-and-sell-with-cricut.html

I have a Cricut Maker and so that means I can also make things to sew. Now I didn't notice if she has ideas for the Maker, I have been trying to untangle some yarn, while I was scrolling.

Talking about Cricut I just found another blog you may like. It's making things with your Cricut in 15 minutes. I really like what she has. I am going to share this blog also:

https://www.happygoluckyblog.com/cricut-projects-you-can-make-in-15-minutes-or-less/

Well that's it for now. I am Pinterest just about everyday. I keep my laptop next to me, so when I am sitting on the couch and I want to make something, I just get on Pinterest and look and save and follow.

Have a good day or night when your reading this and checkout the blogs I posted. These ladies have some good ideas to share using your Cricut. I guess I need to look at these and start using my Cricut. My husband bought me some notions and vinyl for my Cricut for Christmas and I haven't even taken them out of the boxes yet.

I will post more when I come across some good ideas or videos or both.

I have opened another shop called Paradise of Creations. That is where I will put handmade items that I crochet, sew and different types of crafts. There isn't much in there at the moment, but I will be adding more items really soon. Right now I have Air Freshener Doll with the pop up freshener.

Now in my Vintage Sewing Shoppe on Etsy, I have added a few new categories.. They are clearance $2, clearance attachments $7 and a few clearance $1.

Now I have come across some fantastic doll clothes and accessories websites.

They are:
This one here has a free pattern instructions to make a bean bag. There are so many more things that she designed here on the link with this website.

This website has all types of crafts and sewing ideas for American Girl Dolls.

Also this week JoAnns is having a sale on Kwik Sew and Butterick patterns for $1.99. I was shocked to see that Kwik Sew was on sale. It's very rare that these patterns are at this price. So I got 10 and I found some cute doll patterns. I can't wait to make them.

I hope this New Hear 2020 will be the better year than last year. I hope this year will bring you joy and happiness.

Check out my YouTube channel. It's called Paradise Creations.

It's been way to long

It's been a long time. My New Years resolution is to blog if not a few times a week, but to blog at least once a week. I am going to change my blog so you will be interested in the topics. I am going to add more shout outs to people that design their own sewing, plastic canvas, crochet, knitting patterns. I am going to have patterns for animals, arigami, doll clothes, doll making and so much more.

I am also going to upload videos from YouTube and Vimeo that will have the same content. I have been watching so much Youtube that I have so many ideas. I am also going to upload pictures of projects I make. Oh! I forgot that there is embroidery machine and hand, and cross stitching.

So be on the lookout for a lot of exiting things coming your way in the new year.

Wow! It's been a long time since I have been posting anything here. Well, I have been so busy sewing and crocheting. I just got through make no dresses for Africa girls. I also included shorts and shirts for little boys as well. I finally learned how to make sanitary pads for the girls.

I am in the process of crocheting a shopping bag and bed doll. I ran out of yarn for the dress for the doll, so I had to order more, so I'm waiting on that to come in so I can finish. I crocheted a toilet tissue doll dress. I was going through some doll supplies and came across some dolls for crafting. I found a lot of theses at a yard sale a long time ago. I have doll heads and dolls for air fresheners, santa doll heads and different sizes for cubbie dolls. I'm planning to makes clothes for these dolls. If they turn out nice I may decide to sell them.

Talking about dolls, I just found this cute pillowcase dress for 18" dolls. It's a free download from Pixie Faire.
Here is the site address: http://www.pixiefaire.com/collections/free-doll-clothes-patterns/products/drawstring-dress-18-doll-clothes

I also found another blog with a lot more free doll patterns, here is the link: http://livingadollslife.blogspot.com/p/more-amazing-free-patterns-for-18-inch.html
So if you like to sew doll clothes for a special little girl in your life, this is a great place. I love to make doll clothes and accessories.

I was in Dollar Tree the other day and found a tea set with plates, forks and knives, tea pot and tea cups. They are the perfect size for 18" dolls. I am going to post some pictures soon about some of the things I have been making.

Well, that's all for now. I am going to try to write more often. Have a great day.

Busy Busy Busy

Good morning all, hope your summer is going good so far. I love the summer, but I live in Florida and it's summer all year round. I used to live in Virginia, and I hated the winter; (cold, snow, ice, etc). I've been here for 4.5 years.

I haven't done all that great about keeping up my blog, I forget sometimes then sometimes I get real busy.

Talking about being busy, I have been trying to get my sewing cleaned up and organized. It seems to me that every time I get my sewing room cleaned it gets messy again. How is that when I'm sewing? LOL!
I have been getting some mending done that has been laying around my sewing room for a long time, and I have been going through all my things to see what I don't need anymore or have never used, and gave it all to the thrift store. I'm sure I will come across more. I can see my recliner that I have in my room and I actually got to sit in it yesterday. So now I know I am starting to see progress.

I got a new sewing machine. I had a Babylock Ellure Plus and I decided I wanted to update to a color screen. The old machine didn't have a color screen. It was black and white and you couldn't tell what the embroidery pattern was going to look like and you also couldn't tell what going to be stitched each time you had to change thread colors. Also, all it told you was thread color, like green, red, white, etc. No thread color number.
The new machine is amazing. I love it. When you turn it on the display shows a screen saver, then when you click that, you see the stitch selections.  Below is some pictures of what it looks like:

I have been watching a lot of sewing videos on youtube anywhere from fabric hauls to tutorials on different methods of sewing projects. I have been busy sewing a lot of dresses for African girls. I sew dresses for Little Dresses for Africa charity. It's a lot of fun. I try to make each dress unique and special for the girl that will be wearing them.

Here are a couple that I have made, I didn't take pictures of all of them, I wish I did.

The red and white one has a purse to match. I will be making more of these dresses for the charity. I think I might add this one to my etsy store. I am very pleased how it came out. I think this is a simplicity pattern. Not sure. I don't have the pattern near me to check, but I will add the pattern information in my next blog. I don't have any appointments or anything the next few days, so I will try to find time to let you know. This dress was real easy to make. I had a few questions about the pattern, but then when I studied it and actually started to put it all together, it was easier then I anticipated.

I also learned how to make cloth sanitary pads by watching videos on youtube. They are a lot easier to make than I thought. I found a template on the internet. Below is the site where you can find the instructions and template:

https://sites.google.com/site/shewhorunsintheforest/home

I have been doing some crocheting also. I have made a ton of hats and a few scarves, plus baby booties, a diaper set (it's a frog), doll stuff.

I have made a lot more projects that I haven't taken pictures of. I will do that and show you more. These items above are going in my etsy store. So if you are interested to see these and more go over and browse my shop.
http://www.etsy.com/vintagesewingshoppe

I made a couple of these towels for my daughter for her birthday. It's easy, all you do is go to the store get a dish towel (or you can get a bath hand towel), Pot holder, and a button.

Center the edges of the pot holder on the towel, then fold in the edges to meet the pot holder on each end, then sew down each edge. Fold the towel in half long ways to find the center, then fold the pot holder in half with hoop on top (that's the button hole) to find that center. Put a couple of straight pins in on each end of fold on pot holder. Put the pot holder on top of the towel with the fold lines together (make sure you have the tag on the top). Sew across from one side to another. Bring hoop down to other side of pot holder to find where the button will go, mark that area with a marking pen or tailors chalk. Sew the button on. Your done! :

Well, I have a doctors appointment, so I guess I'd better get off my computer and get ready. Will update more later.

First Steps Sewing Projects - Making Ironing Board Cover

I just found this great tutorial on how to make an ironing board cover. She has an accent and sometimes it's hard to understand her. You really have to pay close attention. I think she said for the elastic 28" and it looks like she is doing the 28" twice. That will make 56" total. I'm going to make one, but I am going to try to slow down the speed when I get to that part so I can understand the inches part for the elastic.

A Small Dollar Tree Haul October 13, 2015

This is a video that I put on Youtube about a haul that I did at Dollar Tree.
Sometimes I do haul videos about great deals that I find. I decided maybe I would put them in my blog. Maybe some of you will be interested. Also, I come across some good crafting and sewing videos that I will start posting.

Wow! More listings in my shop. I'm on a roll.

Wow! I've been busy today listing some sewing machine attachments and notions. I'm trying to get caught up on all the things I have to list. I need to stop buying things to list until I get caught up. But I go to an estate sale, yard sale or something and I see things that I know people would love to own. So then the items never seem to stay caught up. Oh well, maybe one day, I will have everything listed. Am I dreaming? Well, here are the items I listed today.
